a very new york city wedding

On Sunday, husband-face and I attended the nuptials of our friend Immy and his long-time paramour Whitney. In the seven-plus years I’ve dwelled in this, our beloved New York City, this was the first Manhattan wedding both Brian and I had the pleasure to attend. We had a ball!

Some highlights — dress-up (duh). The theme was a sort of fancy picnic meets derby style (hats!). I took this as a cue to take matchy-matchy florals to the extreme (some may nauseate; I, for one ,was into it):

— oh yeah, I got to debut some new stuff engraved indelibly into my upper back, designed by the lovely Sophie C’est La Vie! You can view it freshly etched here. More on that later:

Bonus happy highlights included seeing the work of the lovely Rebecca Shepherd who festooned our own event with her floral magic, and seeing our ingenious friend James Mulry, who also DJ’ed our wedding.
